Part 2 - The Twin Leviathan
Part 1: Samuel T Francis’s Leviathan and its Enemies
The Twin Leviathan
Francis painted a picture of Leviathan, but there is another Beast which helped create and now sustains the Managerial State.
Like Leviathan, this twin is an Eldritch Abomination — a ghostly presence that is felt emotionally more than it is ever seen with waking eyes. A cosmic, Lovecraftian horror that is barely knowable or comprehensible except to the most perceptive individuals, this beast lives beneath the surface and slowly spreads like cancer, gnawing more and more at the heart and sanity of the afflicted. The beast manifests not as a physical monster, but more as a psychological madness.
But, if Leviathan is the Eldritch Abomination which rules Without, then this twin is the one which rules Within. Let’s call it Cthulhu for the sake of brevity moving forward.
Here, in brief, is the nature of their relationship (and the hook of this 3-part series, so read it twice for desired effect):
Leviathan created conditions which perverted very basic human psychological needs. These needs —biological urges— could no longer be readily met within a Managerial State, and so the urges found new outlets, unnatural and unhealthy; and, like a dammed stream will divert and flood the basement of an otherwise dry house, resulting in mold, bio-growth, and ultimate destruction of the house, so too have these diverted urges (satisfied via unnatural pathways), resulted in the growth of Cthulhu, a mind virus, effectively poisoning the foundations of our minds — our subconsciouses.
Here’s why this is important: if you cannot understand these urges in their natural and healthy forms — and course-correct back towards them if it is necessary for you to do so — then you can neither diagnose their perversions, nor be on guard for the beast that comes with them to devour you.
And by the way, this subconscious conditioning gets passed down to your children,
There are primarily two needs which must be identified and understood, two needs which are increasingly going unmet.
The Need for Autonomy
Kaczynski identified this as The Power Process. This quote (and all others following), are paraphrased from Industrial Society:
Human beings have a need for a "power process." The power process has four elements. Goal, effort and attainment of goal, and autonomy. Consider the hypothetical case of a man who can have anything he wants just by wishing for it. Such a man has power, but he will develop serious psychological problems. Eventually he may become clinically depressed. History shows that leisured aristocracies tend to become decadent, bored, hedonistic and demoralized, even though they have power. This shows that power is not enough. One must have goals toward which to exercise one's power.
Though Kaczynski calls the fourth element Autonomy, I call this entire Power Process a Need for Autonomy — in other words, Man has a deep psychological need to set a goal, exert effort, and achieve it, with some level of agency.
The “Power Process” is no different from Bronze Age Pervert’s “Need to Conquer Space”. It is the “how” of the Will to Power. Man has an urge, deep in his blood, to exert himself and conquer a goal for himself. Even if he is unsuccessful, he has autonomy — the freedom to exercise his urge — and this alone is better for the human psyche than the condition where everything is provided in a vacuum of autonomy.
Kaczynski goes on to explain how, as a result of the Industrial Revolution, modern man’s Power Process has been perverted: basic physical needs are mostly provided for, or he lacks little agency in going about achieving his goals.
Society requires people to live under conditions radically different from those under which the human race evolved and to behave in ways that conflict with the patterns of behavior that the human race developed. Among the abnormal conditions present in modern industrial society are excessive density of population, isolation of man from nature, excessive rapidity of social change and the breakdown of natural small-scale communities such as the extended family, the village or the tribe. Our lives depend on decisions made by other people; we have no control over these decisions and usually we do not even know the people who make them. (“We live in a world in which relatively few people—maybe 500 or 1,000—make the important decisions”). The system does not and cannot exist to satisfy human needs. Instead, it is human behavior that has to be modified to fit the needs of the system.
Further, Kaczynski precedes Francis’s claim that Leviathan / Industrial Society creates problems so that it can create solutions, presenting their Ideology as amelioration or salvation:
Technological control over human behavior will probably not be introduced with a totalitarian intention or even through a conscious desire to restrict human freedom. Each new step in the assertion of control over the human mind will be taken as a rational and humanitarian response to a problem that faces society. For example, when a psychiatrist prescribes an anti-depressant for a depressed patient, he is clearly doing that individual a favor. It would be inhumane to withhold the drug from someone who needs it. But what can they do? They can’t change society. Thus control over human behavior will be introduced not by a calculated decision of the authorities but through a process of social evolution. The process will be impossible to resist, because each advance, considered by itself, will appear to be beneficial, or at least the evil involved in making the advance will appear to be beneficial, or at least the evil involved in making the advance will seem to be less than that which would result from not making it.
The Need for Autonomy / the Power Process / the Need to Conquer Space / the Will to Power has been suppressed by Leviathan. And so, the urge finds a new outlet: Leftism / Collectivism / Strict Enforcement of Herd Mentality / Yeast Life / Hive Mind.
Kaczynski prescribes the problem, and predicts the future, in Industrial Society. Leftism / Collectivism is a mental illness caused when one’s Need for Autonomy is met via collective social movement / strict enforcement of herd morality. It is an illness caused by over-socialization within Leviathan’s rapidly changing social structures:
The leftist seeks to satisfy his Power Process through social movement. But no matter how far the movement has gone in attaining its goals the leftist is never satisfied, because his real motive is not to attain the ostensible goals of leftism; in reality he is motivated by the sense of power he gets from struggling for and then reaching a social goal. His need for the power process leads him always to pursue some new goal. The leftist wants equal opportunities for minorities. When that is attained he insists on statistical equality of achievement by minorities. And as long as anyone harbors in some corner of his mind a negative attitude toward some minority, the leftist has to re-educated him. And ethnic minorities are not enough; no one can be allowed to have a negative attitude toward homosexuals, disabled people, fat people, old people, ugly people, and on and on and on. They will never be satisfied. Because of the restrictions placed on their thoughts and behavior by their high level of socialization, many leftists of the over-socialized type cannot pursue power in the ways that other people do. For them the drive for power has only one morally acceptable outlet, and that is in the struggle to impose their morality on everyone.
Moral bullying results in real physical aggression by spiritually dead individuals: Minds have been reconditioned, social tendencies have been inherited upon multiple generations, and a culture of mold, yeast, and fungus has latched onto the collective subconscious of millions.
The Need for Status
Humans have another deeply rooted psychological need, other than the Need for Autonomy: the Need for Status
Your psyche needs status in a social hierarchy like your body needs water or your lungs need air. It is well documented how many prison inmates will suffer depression when they are released back into society, because they had worked to gain status inside the jail, and now, outside, they often have low status or no status.
Recall, from Francis’s Leviathan, how social capital (status and rank) eclipsed physical capital as political currency after the Managerial Revolution.
It is healthy and natural for man to desire status, and also to feel a little bit of fear about losing it. When reaping grain for the tribe, instead of pocketing some for himself, he puts it all into the cart, because if anyone finds out that he stole from the tribe’s field for himself, he will be ostracized. Humans evolved this urge for tens if not hundreds of thousands of years.
But what happens when this urge is perverted into unhealthy, and unnatural outlets? When Status becomes Currency? When fear of losing status results in decisions which are disastrous for our culture? When addiction to gaining status perverts all natural incentive structures in our civilization?
Ordinary men convert to eunuchs to gain favor in their Mass Corporations or Mass States; Wormtongues and sycophants acquire power, because those are the traits this system selects for. Women and children transition their genders, because that is how our social system has incentivized status-seekers. Power-hungry cretins (who are no more than glorified hall-monitors, no better than the administrators of the Stanford prison experiment), drunk on any little bit of status they earn within the Manager caste, enable the rise of an Autocracy with no Autocrat, an Empire with no Emperor, a late-stage Rome whose Caesar cannot be assassinated — in the administrative state, if five administrators die, fifty are applying to take their chairs. The throne room is full of these creatures, but the throne is empty. The invisible tentacles spread throughout all of our institutions, and therefore our culture.
This status addiction results in headlines like these — such a blatantly regime-serving lie that it is mocking:

Elites in Mass Media, Mass Corporation, and Mass State, are drunk on the status they can claim freely — well, not freely, the only cost is their soul — by knowingly gaslighting, obfuscating, conspiring. Aristophanes Athenaeum recently highlighted one very specific example of this phenomenon: Twitter artificially boosts engagement for accounts that favor Leftist narrative, and this spills over into newsrooms and editorial desks everywhere.
They are rats, hitting a dopamine button (high follower-counts and likes), where the dopamine is status. But there are unintended consequences of this rat-race, which none of the experimenters have accounted for — recall Kaczynski’s and Francis’s warnings that when Elites create radical change in social structures, it results in problems that only Elites can claim to solve, which results in new radical changes, which results in… etc. etc., on and on, faster and faster down the death spiral. It is a self destructive feedback loop on a civilization-wide scale
While Elites are gorging on status, Average people are hiding out of fear of losing their own. The case of rainbow flags in a Spiderman videogame is a fresh example. Nexus Mods hosted a mod that replaced these flags with American flags, but they’ve recently removed it. You can download mods that let you murder children in video games, but you can no longer download a mod that replaces rainbow flags with American flags — because of Fear of the Leftist Mob.
The decision maker (let’s assume CEO) is likely not raking in enormous salary, but he has a lot of status in his own world. Someone raised to his attention that this mod exists (probably to meet their power process), and now the CEO has an easy choice: risk everything by doing nothing, or risk nothing by simply removing the mod. A “Nexus CEO allows homophobia” headline in the Washington Post is all it takes to cancel him, delete his status, and realize his worst fears — loss of his status.
Elites live in decadence of status, while average citizens of our Globalist Liberal Regime need to hide behind anonymous twitter accounts with fake email addresses just to offer some very reasonable opinions (such as: anyone who approves or conducts castration on minors should be imprisoned), or state some very obvious truth (e.g. a trans woman is a man).
Cthulhu is so powerful in our collective subconscious that truth has become extremism, traditional values have become racist and sexist, lies have become glorified, and noticing facts is punishable by social ostracization.
What’s worse, these attitudes are being passed down from generation to generation. There might be an honest debate to be had about differences between sexes, and you could have had the debate thirty years ago, but you can no longer dare bring it up in polite company, even if you are certain everyone in your company shares the same opinions.
A healthy, natural urge has been perverted into unhealthy, unnatural channels. The result is two-fold: 1) a fear, deeply-engrained and inherited now, of losing social status in a socially upside-down civilization, and 2) gluttony of status-seeking behavior which achieves the goal of gaining status, but at the cost of functioning civilization.
The repression and perversion of basic psychological functions has resulted in horrors unimaginable even ten years ago.
Men and women are even choosing not to have children, just to “do their part” to stop climate change, or, because they are too addicted to chasing Status to give any attention to their Instinct. This mind virus has literally undone billions of years of biological and chemical programming, hardwired into the very deepest part of your Being. And THAT is a downright Lovecraftian Horror when you really consider it closely.

Here is the nature of Cthulhu, summarized: Modern society has forced people to exercise an urge — their Power Process — via collective force AKA leftism. They exercise their power process by abusing the unnatural incentive pathways of another urge — the Need for Status: either greedily pursuing their own status, or by assassinating the status of other people. All to feel power.
In summary to this point
Leviathan rules without. Its greedy managerial elite have sunk fangs into institutions and mass organizations, and over decades have conspired for global control of industrial civilization.
Cthulhu rules within. Novel yet perverse arrangements of existing psychological urges have resulted in perversion of the most basic biological urges, and risks civilizational destruction if not corrected.
These twin beasts work together to advance, to encroach, to consume, to destroy all the good that is left in this world, until all higher life is extinguished.
How do we stand up against this unrelenting darkness? Who will save us?
